UI/UX & iOS

iOS App Design

iOS App Design

Project overview

This was an iOS configurator meant for the furniture and yacht industries, showcasing a set of options, materials and other information about the products in a highly interactive and visual way. It was commissioned by a startup.

It was built with Swift and Apple’s Metal renderer.

My role

I was in charge of all the UX/UI area, and all the related asset and graphic design deliverables. The whole project can be segmented in the administration web app, the boat configurator and the furniture configurator.

Data Administration

There was a web-based administration app intended for the owners of the product, which allowed them to create items, catalogues, options, price listings and so forth.

I used Figma for the prototyping and flows, and the Material Design Kit for web for the components and general styling.

Home Screen configuration

The app’s Home screen could be easily customised by the owner. I created a CSS Grid layout that could be easily adapted to portrait and landscape modes, as well as Dark/Light theming.

Furniture Configurator app

For the furniture configurator, I researched all the gestures that a user could use to navigate the 3D space, and created some User Stories to begin the prototyping process.

When the prototypes were validated, I created the final mockups and the handoff for the developers, including App icon set proposals.

Boat Configurator app

For the yacht configurator, I adapted much of the work we had and put a special focus on the deck navigation and visualization. I created some prototypes, which were validated with the developers.
